Wildernis Invites
For kpm3, reuse of structures lies at the heart of its approach—not only recycling but also upcycling. This is exactly what makes the project so meaningful and significant. The first phase of the project of Constructlab focused on the construction and activation of a solid wooden structure—a pavilion. The process began with the deconstruction of the German Pavilion from the FLORIADE EXPO 2022, in Almere, the Netherlands. The materials from this pavilion were carefully dismantled in order to give them a new life in a different context. Following this initial step, the project moved into the design and planning of a new wooden pavilion structure. In March 2025, the practical work on the structure officially began with a collective action called “Cut and Paint.” The reclaimed wooden beams were prepared for construction: they were sorted, sanded, cut, and painted. This collaborative process brought together many hands and helped establish the spirit of the project. Beyond the physical construction of the pavilion, the second major objective of Wildernis Invites is the activation of the newly built space and its integration into the surrounding neighbourhood. The goal of the Culture Move residency program is to create a welcoming environment for the artists and participants who would inhabit and engage with the space. |
